I’m Elise Rowland and I’m a self-taught visual artist of many avenues including acrylic painting, digital art, photography, video-editing(usually for fun), and crocheting. I've been drawing since before I could even walk and have always defined art as a top priority for me.
I graduated from Winthrop University in 2019 with a degree in communications and a minor in photography. When the pandemic hit, painting and creating digital art became therapeutic and I decided to pursue them professionally.
My art style is fun and eclectic, influenced by the colorful and bold pop art of Andy Warhol. I’m also heavily inspired by William Eggleston’s use of color in his photography work. I draw inspiration from my own life, current news, pop culture, work from my favorite artists, and my forever love— Pinterest. My crochet journey started in late 2021 but I ultimately gave up due to frustrations. I tried again a year later and haven’t looked back!
Working at Chapman Cultural Center has given me ample opportunities and so many lovely connections. I’m so happy to be a part of this guild and I can’t wait to see where this leads me!
